Banladesh Bank established a colony for its employees at Faridabad in old Dhaka. The inhabitants of this colony realized that a school is essential to educate their children. For the welfare of its employees Bangladesh Bank authority started a school in 1985 and named it Bangladesh Bank Adarsha Primary School. Afterward it was developed to a high school. Before the construction of the present academic building classes were held in the various residential buildings of the colony. Present academic building is constructed in 1988. Its 3rd floor is built in 1990 and 5th floor in 2012.Its land area is 72 decimal acre.

The chairman of its first managing committee was Mr. M.A. kashem and Mrs. Ferdaus Ara was the first head of the institute.Now it is a prominent school in old Dhaka.
